The moon had the coolest halo around it tonight. Unfortunately I couldn't get both the detail of the moon and the halo in the same shot, so the first one is the detail and the second has the halo.

1/31/2010 - It's a marvelous night for a moondance
The moon had the coolest halo around it tonight. Unfortunately I couldn't get both the detail of the moon and the halo in the same shot, so the first one is the detail and the second has the halo.

1/30/2010 - Bags Aplenty
The start of my first crocheted handbag. Lots of work to go, but a nice start for only a few hours of work.

1/28/2010 - Fresh Snow Catching the Setting Sun
Ok, so this picture was kindof a surprise. I just snapped it thinking "what the heck." I had taken some earlier in the day that I thought would be cool and had intended to use on of those until I got home and noticed that the potentially cute pictures of my strawberry coconut bubble tea looked horrible and this random shot I took just because looked awesome. Weird how things work out like that some days. Oh, to see the real beauty of this image, click on it to blow it up. You can see the fresh snow clinging to the branches at the bottom. Totally cool...

1/27/2010 - Why Motherboard Why?
A closeup of an old motherboard Brian has in his random collection of reclaimed components. This picture was taken in memory of my recently departed motherboard who's demise I only learned of today. With computers it's always one thing or another. C'est la vie.... On a happy note, my rig comes home tomorrow (in working order). Yeay!

1/26/2010 - What's the American Term for a Level Crossing?
I suddenly feel the need to be wearing a high visability jacket... odd. Maybe I've been watching too much TopGear (for explanation, see this video).
1/25/2010 - Glossy Stained Leaves
One of the samples I made during creativity bootcamp. This one features stamping an image in a clear pigment inkon glossy paper and then applying dye ink directly to the paper itself. The clear pigment resists the dye ink and shows the stamped image in silhouette.

1/24/2010 - Nothing Beats Eating M&Ms with Inky Fingers
They gave us candy at Creativity Bootvcamp yesterday. I ended up being covered in ink AND chocolate :D

1/23/2010 - Sunset Victory!
Last night I was finally able to capture an amazing sunset. I had just enough time after seeing its potential greatness, to drive up to the highes, clearest open space in Hudson and spend a few minutes snapping shots. While they all came out well, I think this one is the best.

1/16/2010 - The Yarn Ball made for Giants
I know, I know...I photograph way too much yarn and fiber projects, but hey, it's what I have around. I just bought this lovely bulky specimen (Duo by Jarbo Garn) on Friday and was happily winding it up using my yarn swift when I realized that this was just too much yarn for my ball winder to handle. So, I took it off the winder and proceeded to hand wind if off the swift. Quite a while and many hand cramps later I had a ball that definately should be described as ginormous. I could barely hold it in one hand it was so big. So, I had the great idea to have my resident hand model (my husband Brian) hold it in his much bigger hands. It still looks kind of ridiculous though, doesn't it?

1/14/2010 - We don't make bows
One of the cute cards that Jenn, my favorite A Muse instructor, had us make tonight in class. The theme was Valentine's Day with a hint of sea life. Oh, and we don't make bows, we make knots...

1/13/2010 - Beauty in Odd Places
I know it sounds odd, but cemeteries are a really great place to take pictures. There is some absolutely beautiful statues and wrought iron enclosures like this one that are very captivating. I took this at the Mt. Feake Cemetery in Waltham, MA.

1/12/10 - New Craft Alert
My first shot at crocheting. Not bad for a first effort, although I kept on decreasing on both sides. Oh well!

1/10/10 - If only I could sleep so soundly
Our cat absolutely adores our bed and was so fast asleep that I took 5-10 shots of her without her even noticing.

1/6/10 - Technical Difficulties - Updated
So, when I got home last night, the internet was as slow as molasses. I could get into sites eventually, but uploading my photos proved impossible. Hopefully this issue will be fixed tonight and I can catch up.
Update 1/7/09 10:22pm -
Still cannot upload or do much via the internet on my machine. Brian's machine also does not want to upload photos for me. Lose..... We called Comcast late tonight and the recording said there is a problem in our area they are working on. No clue as to when it will be fixed, but I have other ideas of how to post, heh heh heh...

Chris and Sue's 6.5 month old playing with the thrice cursed Dr. Phil book that has been part of the Yankee Swap at Friendsmas for more years than we would like to admit.

1/1/2010 - Some green against all that white
This is the yarn for the Cedar Leaf Shawlette I will be starting for myself in the next few days. The lovely slightly changing green just popped against the backdrop of recent snow.
